Bill went on a fishing and birding trip with Ray and Terry about 12 to 20 miles offshore from San Blas, Mexico but never got a bite or saw a new bird. They did see a pair of Humpback Whales doing synchronized leaping about 5 miles away and Armando, the guide, cranked up the motor to get within a few hundred feet. These whales weigh about 40,000 pounds and are about 40 feet long.
Despite the ash fallouts, we really liked the campground near Colima. We had lots of room to explore and saw many birds. The campground is on the flanks of Volcan de Fuego which erupted at any time and gave us great views.
It was a treat to visit our beautiful little granddaughter, Elizabeth and her mom and dad, Michelle and Stephen in St. Louis. On the way down in November when we went to her Christening, she was an infant. On our way back in March, we found she was no longer an infant and she was actually getting around by rolling.
